WEAK GAME OF MEGA IN LJUBLJANA
Players of Mega Leks experienced another defeat in the ABA league within 14th round. Olimpija won in Ljubljana with 82:69 (19:19, 22:14, 21:9, 20:27). After tied the game in the most part of the first half, Mega fell in the game in the finish of fist and at the beginning of second half, which Olimpija used to reach convincing lead that did not drop until the end. For this match, Dejan Milojevic could not count on Kostja Mushidi who is at the U18 European Championship in Turkey, as well as the Marko Tejić that because of arm injury did not traveled to Slovenia.
Best in the ranks of Mega Leks was Vlatko Cancar with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks, while the home team led former player of Mega Nikola Jankovic with 19 points.
After 14 rounds of ABA league, Mega Leks has 4 wins and 10 defeats while Olimpija came to sixth triumph. The next match for Mega Leks in on Wednesday from 18:30 and opponent within the 10th round of the Basketball Champions League will be Mornar Bar.
Dejan Milojevic started the match with the following five: Novak, Zagorac, Simeunovic, Spasojevic and Kaba. Several missed shot on both sides at the beginning interrupted Kaba with a dunk and then Zagorac hit long range FG. Olimpija scored first points after 3 minutes. Three pointers of Spasojevic and Zagorac took Mega to lead 5:10 at the middle of the quarter. However, turnovers punished Hrovat who hit two threes for lead of Olimpija 14:12. By the end of the quarter the teams exchanged baskets and to the first break we have gone with the three of Cancar in the final seconds for 19:19.
After an excellent layup of Jaramaz, Mega was a few minutes without a point in the attack which breaks Novak with mid-range FG then Cancar hit three pointer. At the score 24:26, the home team makes a series of 10:0, which stops Cancar with a plus one after offensive rebound. The attack does not work well but players of Mega grabbed offensive rebounds and scored to stay in the game but the first half ended with a three pointer of Jefferson for 41:33 for Olimpija.
Very bad beggining of second-half for Mega Olimpija used over Jankovic in the paint and a couple of threes to come to the big plus 21, 58:37 after 26 minutes. Mega had opportunity to reduce the advantage at the end of a quarter but with a few missed free throws and layups missed a chance so with Jefferson’s layup for 62:42 ended third quarter.
In the last quarter all the Mega managed is that with series Cancar’s points to reduce to the final 82:69.
