SIMEUNOVIC: “WE HAVE ADVANTAGE OVER COMPETITORS FOR PLAY-OF”
On Monday 28th of December at 18 o’clock basketball players of Mega Leks will be guests in Skopje against the home team MZT Skopje Aerodrom within the 17th round of ABA League. After an exciting match with the leader of the ABA league and missed chance for triumph over Buducnost, players of Dejan Milojevic travel to Macedonia against host who is in the mood and who tied three wins in regional competition.
Mega in Skopje traveled without Nikola Jankovic due to a knee injury in the match against Buducnost as he will be absent around ten days, and without Aleksandar Aranitović who is with the junior teamin Rome at the qualification tournament junior Euroleague. The team, meanwhile, brought Boris Savović that will be part of the match with the MZT. Coach of Mega Leks Dejan Milojevic emphasizes that the team proved to be doing fine when they have problems:
“We will play without injured Jankovic and without Aranitovic who is at junior tournament in Rome. Savovic will before travel have one training with the team and we will try to fit him in as quickly as we can. MZT is a very good team, they raised their level of play. We can expect a tough match but I believe that despite all the problems, we can play well because we have responded well when we were in similar situations”.
Mega Leks after 16 rounds is at 4th place in the league with 10 wins and 6 losses while the MZT is 7th with a score of 7-9. IN ABA league Mega so far played five matches with the MZT with a score of 3-2 for Mega. The last match was played in the 4th round of the season in Sremska Mitrovica when Mega after minus 20 managed to turn the match and celebrated with 82:70.
Djordje Simeunovic considers that Mega have advantage over it’s competitors for the playoffs:
“We made it through matches against the toughest opponents and of the teams from the top of the league and by the end of regular season, we only hosts Cedevita. I think we’re in for an advantage over our competitors for the playoffs but it will not mean anything if that advantage we don’t materialize. We’re going to very difficult away game, MZT rose up in results, they tied up victorise and brought great center of Uros Lukovic. For us to Boris Savović pose big boost before the trip even though we only have one training with him. He will mean a lot for our game, especially because Jankovic will not play due to injury. I believe that with our trademark play in defence, we can get to very important win”,
