MEGA LOST IN OVERTIME AGAINST PARTIZAN!

In the match of the 9th round of Superleague, Mega Leks lost in overtime against Partizan 95:96 (19:16, 23:18, 24:27, 19:24, 10:11).

The crowd in Sremska Mitrovica again attended thrilling match but onfortunately, Mega Leks failed to win in the finish of regular time and was unlucku to miss winning shot in overtime. Mega Leks remained in 4th place with 4-5 score while Partizan is second with 8-1.

Dejan Milojevic started the match with Miljenovic, Zagorac, Keselj, Jokic and Sulovic. After a tied game at the beginning of the match, Mega’s defense tightened and over three of Keselj reaches 16:11. Partizan managed to equalize and the first quarter ended with Krstic’s three for 19:16.

The second quarter, as in the previous match, started great for Mega with series 8:0 for plus 11, 27:16. Guests scored after more than 4 minutes. Partizan had reduced difference on several occasions but Mega finished first half with 42:34.

The second half started better for guest which reduced difference to minus 2, 49:47. Mega Leks responded with points of Miljenovic and Simovic for plus 9. Jokic played great in that period but the third quarter ended with 66:61.

In the last 10 minutes, Jokic and Zagorac kept Mega in the lead. Zagorac hit three for plus 10 only 3 minutes until the end of the match. Pavlovic started hitting a lot of shot for 84:85. Jokic hit one of two free throws in the next attack and match went to overtime.

In overtime, the visitors plus 3 but Jokic tied the game with 3 free throws. After a foul on Tepic, he hit one free throw. In the last attack, Miljenovic missed jump shot for victory.

Mega Leks: Keselj 12 pts, Krstic 3 pts, Jaramaz 1 pt, Veljkovic, Miljenovic 19 pts and 7 as, Bojic, Jokic 33 pts, 12 reb and 4 as (PIR 47), Sulovic 10 pts i 5 as, Webster 4 pts, Simovic 4 pts, Zagorac 9 pts and 8 reb, Simeunovic.

The best in Partizan were Aleksandar Pavlovic with 23 points, Milan Macvan with 22 points and Nikola Milutinov with 13 points and 20 rebounds.

Mega Leks is playing next match in Valjevo against Metalac. The game is scheduled for Monday 25th from 6 pm.

Dejan Milojevic:”I congratulate Partizan for the win. We had no luck nor experience to bring this match to the end. Against Crvena zvezda we had 8 points lead, now 10 to 3 minutes to go. A series of turnovers and missed field goals and then Pavlovic started to make shots. However, in the end we didn’t have luck to win. Metalac in Valjevo is probably our match of the season”.
